The big picture

Cocktails & Bar Stock, at a glance.

Gaplessly's cocktail list starts with 197 classic cocktails and checks each one against the bottles your bar carries, so you can see what you can make tonight and what is one bottle away. Add your own recipes, edit or hide any classic, save shared lists such as Favourites or a happy hour menu, and print them. Count what is on the shelf and set a par level, and the Cocktails page warns you when low stock puts a drink at risk.

A cocktail list that knows your back bar

Tick the bottles your bar carries, shelf by shelf: spirits, liqueurs, wine and vermouth, bitters, then syrups, juices, fruit and mixers if you want to track them. Each drink is marked as one you can make now, one bottle away, or further off.

Starting from nothing takes a minute. A starter kit such as Essentials, Classic cocktail bar, Aperitivo or Agave bar ticks a typical set of bottles in one go, and you adjust from there.

Juices, syrups and fruit are assumed on hand until you tick your first item on that shelf. A bar that never tracks its citrus is never told it cannot make a Daiquiri.

The top of the stock page counts the drinks you can make tonight and lists the best next buys: the bottles that would each add the most drinks to that list on their own. Each starter kit shows how many bottles it would add and how many drinks you could make with it.

Classic cocktails, plus your own recipes

The list comes with 197 classics, written in-house from the official IBA specs. Edit a classic to match how your bar makes it, hide the ones you never pour, and add your own house recipes next to them.

  • Each card shows a picture of the drink, how it is made and served, and its glass and garnish.
  • A strength scale and a sweet-to-dry scale, worked out from the recipe, plus similar drinks.
  • Measures in ml, fl oz, cl or parts.

Find a drink by what you have

The cocktail finder narrows the list by base spirit, strength, taste, glass and method, or by one ingredient you want to use up. Search for tequila and you get every drink with any tequila in it. Pick blanco and you also get the drinks that ask for plain tequila, because a blanco makes them.

Shared lists for the team

Save drinks to Favourites or to named lists, such as a happy hour menu or this season's specials. Lists are shared with your team, and any list prints as a clean recipe sheet for the bar or a training session.

Stock counts, par levels and low stock

Count what is on the shelf in bottles or millilitres and set the par you like to keep. An item counted under par, or counted at nothing, is low. Something you have never counted is never flagged.

The low-stock card on the Cocktails page lists what is running short and the drinks at risk: the ones you can make now and could not without that bottle.

Bar stock does not connect to your POS yet, and it does not place orders. Counts are what your team enters.

Train the bar on your own specs

Every cocktail card has a Practise this drink button that opens the cocktail drill in Gaplessly Academy, with questions built from your own list. The same classic recipes are free to read in the public Gaplessly library.
