Data Deletion, Meta data requests
What we receive from Meta today, and how to ask us to delete it.
Last updated 14 October 2026
1. Why this page exists
This page is Gaplessly's Data Deletion Instructions for Meta: the specific, standalone explanation Meta's app review process asks every app to publish about data it receives through Facebook or Instagram, separate from our general Privacy Policy. If you are looking for how we handle your account or booking data more broadly, section 11 of the Privacy Policy is the right place; this page covers only what we receive from Meta.
It exists because a business using Gaplessly can connect a Facebook Page or an Instagram professional account so Meta can notify us about activity on it. The app registered with Meta for this is named Gaplessly-IG.
2. What we receive from Meta
When a business connects a Page or Instagram account, Meta can send us a webhook delivery whenever something happens on it, such as a comment, a mention or a direct message. Each delivery is signed by Meta and we verify that signature before accepting it.
As of 14 October 2026, we do not read, store or otherwise process the content of these deliveries. We check that a delivery genuinely came from Meta, record that one arrived, and stop there: no comment text, message text, username or Meta user ID is written to a database, a file or a backup anywhere in Gaplessly. If that changes, such as a future feature that reads message content to support a booking conversation, we will describe the new use here before it ships, not after.
3. Connecting Instagram, Facebook or TikTok today
Outside of the webhook above, "connecting" Instagram, Facebook or TikTok from the Gaplessly dashboard means placing your Gaplessly booking link in that platform's own bio or website field, following on-screen instructions. It is not a login: a business never signs in with Facebook, and Gaplessly never requests or receives a Meta access token, page data, profile data or follower data through it. The webhook described in section 2 is the only channel through which Gaplessly receives anything from Meta at all, and only for a business that has separately subscribed a Page to it.
4. How to request deletion
Two ways to act on this. Either is enough on its own:
- Remove Gaplessly-IG from your own Facebook or Instagram account: Settings > Apps and Websites, find Gaplessly-IG, choose Remove. This stops Meta sending us anything about your account from that point on, immediately, and needs nothing from us to take effect.
- Email privacy@gaplessly.com, naming the Facebook Page or Instagram account and roughly when the interaction happened. Because nothing from Meta is kept beyond the moment a delivery is verified and logged as received (section 2), there is typically nothing left to delete by the time your message reaches us, and we will tell you that plainly rather than claim to remove something we never stored. Where anything narrower is found, such as an entry in our own operational logs, it is deleted the same way and within the same 30 days as any other request under section 11 of the Privacy Policy.
5. Booked an appointment or table, and never used Facebook or Instagram to reach us?
You are in the wrong place: this page is specifically about the Meta webhook above. Your booking belongs to the business you booked with, not to Gaplessly. See section 2 of the Privacy Policy for who to ask, or write to privacy@gaplessly.com and we will point you the right way.
