The short answer

Two ways to open for business
SevenRooms' own pricing FAQ says setup works like this: "outside of the monthly subscription, SevenRooms charges a one-time setup fee", and once you sign on you get "a white-glove 1:1 onboarding with a dedicated support member" and "a customized venue floorplan" built for you, arriving, in their words, "within a few weeks".
Ours is the other shape entirely. No setup fee, no dedicated onboarding queue to wait in, and the floor plan is something you build yourself with the bulk table tool, the same day you sign up.
Genuinely the right process for a group that needs it. It is also a multi-week project, and most independent venues do not have a multi-week project's worth of setup to do.
What the setup fee and the weeks are actually buying
For a multi-venue group or a high-end brand with real complexity, a dedicated onboarding team and a floorplan built by someone else is worth paying for and worth the wait. That is a coherent product for that buyer, and this page is not arguing otherwise.
For everyone else, the same job is one action: name a run of tables, set the seat range, and up to 50 land on the floor at once, auto-arranged and ready to drag into place. No setup fee changes hands either way.
Function enquiries, in SevenRooms’ own words
SevenRooms’ own blog names the exact problem our enquiry inbox exists to answer, almost word for word: "what should be a smooth, high-value transaction is still handled through inquiry forms, inboxes, spreadsheets and manual, back-and-forth coordination."
Above your online party limit, the booking page replaces the time grid with an enquiry form instead of turning the guest away. Their message becomes a real thread in the same inbox as your bookings, and converts into a held reservation from the same screen once you have agreed the details, without anyone retyping a phone number.
When SevenRooms is the right choice
You run a multi-venue group or a high-end dining brand that wants deep guest-CRM tooling, marketing automation and a dedicated onboarding team, and you have the weeks and the budget for a proper rollout. SevenRooms is genuinely built for that scale, and its own pricing page frames setup as a guided process with a floorplan built for you, not something an owner does themselves between services.
Common questions
How does the price compare with SevenRooms?
It does not, honestly. SevenRooms does not publish a figure either, only a one-time setup fee on top of an unpriced subscription. What we can tell you is our own numbers: Venue Starter is free up to 35 bookings a month and A$49 in a busier one, Venue Growth is A$99 a month and Venue Pro A$199, all on the pricing page, with no setup fee on any.
How long does it take to go live on SevenRooms?
By their own account, a "white-glove" onboarding that includes a dedicated support member and a custom-built floorplan, arriving, in their words, "within a few weeks".
How long does it take to go live on Gaplessly?
There is no setup fee and no sales call between you and the product. Build your floor with the bulk table tool, set your service periods, and you can be taking real bookings the same day. For the first 50 venues we will build the floor and do the whole setup ourselves within 48 hours at no cost, if you would rather we did it.
Can you migrate our floor plan and upcoming bookings from SevenRooms?
Yes. Export what you can and we will rebuild it as part of that same 48-hour concierge setup, so you can compare the real thing against what you use now before deciding anything.
