A ResDiary alternative with one price, not a menu of add-ons
The short answer
ResDiary publishes no price across its four plans, only a demo request, plus a US$70/mo Event Manager add-on for enquiries. Gaplessly publishes every plan and includes big-group enquiries from A$99 a month, on Venue Growth and up.
ResDiary pricing, side by side with ours
ResDiary's figures were read off their own pricing page on 29 August 2026. Check them at the source before deciding, and tell us if anything here has gone out of date.
ResDiary
Sales-led for the core plan. Four unpriced tiers behind a demo request, plus a separate catalogue of paid add-on modules that do carry real published prices.
- Core plan price
- None published
- Their own pricing page names four tiers, Express, Pro, Connect and Ultimate, and says they "offer the same core features... with the only difference being the number of bookings per plan," with no figure against any of them. The listed path to one is "Book a Free Demo."
- Add-on catalogue
- US$20 to US$70/mo each, nine named add-ons
- Gift Vouchers, SMS, POS integration, ResPhone (bookings by phone), Event Manager (events, enquiries, pre-orders and large parties), PMS integration, CRM/Marketing, Group Central Reservations, and Pre-orders, each sold separately on top of whichever core plan is quoted. Re-counted 2026-08-29: this codebase previously said "eight" in one place and "ten" in another, both wrong. The real count is nine, read directly off the page rather than assumed.
- Free trial or free plan
- Not stated
- Neither offered nor denied anywhere we could find on resdiary.com. What is offered is a free demo, not a free trial of the product itself.

A big, genuinely global operator
ResDiary's own site backs its scale with real numbers rather than a vague claim: "over 10,000 venues across the globe," operating in 60 countries, more than 20 years in the category and 70-plus technology integrations. This page is not arguing they are small or unproven. They plainly are not.
The comparison below is not about size. It is about where the price and the function-enquiry tool actually sit.
The core price, and the menu next to it
Their pricing page names four tiers and says they "offer the same core features... with the only difference being the number of bookings per plan," with no figure shown against any of them. The listed path to a number is "Book a Free Demo," the same sales-led pattern as most of this category.
What the same page does price is nine separate add-ons: Gift Vouchers, SMS, POS integration, ResPhone (bookings by phone), Event Manager, PMS integration, CRM/Marketing, Group Central Reservations and Pre-orders, each US$20 to US$70 a month, on top of whichever core plan you are quoted.
Ours works the other way around. Every number is published, each add-on is A$14.99 or A$29 a month, and Venue Pro includes all of them.
What "events, enquiries and large party bookings" costs extra
Event Manager is ResDiary's own name for the module that handles this, and their own description of it is close to word for word what our enquiry inbox does: "one system that seamlessly handles your events, enquiries and large party bookings." It is a real, capable module once purchased, with its own enquiry widget, run sheets and a link through to deposits. It is also a separate line item, US$70 a month, on top of a core plan whose price you do not know yet.
Ours comes with Venue Growth at A$99 and every plan above it, with no module to add and no separate line on the invoice. Above your online party limit, the booking page swaps the time grid for an enquiry form, and the guest's message becomes a real thread in the same inbox as your bookings, ready to convert into a held reservation from the same screen.
This is not a claim that one does more than the other. It is a claim about which invoice it turns up on.
Building the floor yourself
We could not find a documented way to build a run of tables in one action anywhere on ResDiary's own site. We build a whole run of tables in one action instead: name them, set the seat range once, and up to 50 land on the floor at a time, auto-arranged and ready to drag into place.
When ResDiary is the right choice
You run a multi-venue group or operate across borders and want a vendor with real global scale to point to. ResDiary's own site backs that with numbers: over 10,000 venues worldwide, operating in 60 countries, more than 20 years in the category and 70-plus technology integrations. Its Event Manager add-on is also a genuinely capable module once purchased, with run sheets and deposit handling built in. If that breadth matters more to you than a single flat price you can read today, that is a real reason to choose them.
Common questions
How does the price compare with ResDiary?
It does not, honestly. ResDiary's core plans have no published figure either, only a demo request. What we can tell you is our own numbers: Venue Starter is free up to 35 bookings a month and A$49 in a busier one, Venue Growth is A$99 a month and Venue Pro A$199, all on the pricing page before you talk to anyone.
Does ResDiary charge extra for handling function and event enquiries?
By their own pricing page, yes. Event Manager is listed as a separate add-on at US$70 a month, on top of whichever core plan you are quoted. Ours comes with Venue Growth at A$99 and every plan above it, with no separate module to buy.
Does ResDiary offer a free trial?
We could not find one stated anywhere on their site, one way or the other. Our own live demo runs the full product with example businesses and needs no account, signing up for real does not require a sales call either, and your first business gets a 30-day free trial with no card needed.
Can you migrate our floor plan and upcoming bookings from ResDiary?
Yes. Export what you can and we will rebuild it. For the first 50 venues we do the whole floor and setup ourselves within 48 hours at no cost, so you can compare the real thing against what you use now before deciding anything.
