Put your booking form on your own website

Paste one line of code and your booking form appears on your own website, so guests book without leaving it.

Quick answer

Open Settings, then Integrations, open Booking form under Your website, and copy a snippet. It is on for any website by default. Paste it into your website where you want the form: a code or embed block in WordPress, Wix or Squarespace.

1. Copy a snippet

Your form can be shown on any website from the start, so the code works wherever you paste it. A business admin finds it in Settings, then Integrations, under Your website, Booking form. To keep it to your own websites, choose Only these websites and list them (one address per line, such as https://www.yourbusiness.com.au); browsers then refuse to show your form anywhere else. It works for appointment businesses and for restaurants and bars.

  • On the page: the form appears exactly where you paste the code and grows or shrinks as the guest moves through the steps, with no scrollbar of its own.
  • Button: a floating Book now button sits in the corner of every page the code is on. Tapping it opens your booking form over the page, and a close button or the Escape key puts the guest back where they were.
  • Plain frame: the same form with no script at all, for a site builder that blocks scripts. It keeps a fixed height, so a long step can scroll inside it.
Note:If you choose Off later, the form stops appearing on your website within about a minute. The code stays pasted and shows nothing until you turn it back on.

2. Where to paste it

  • WordPress: add a Custom HTML block on the page and paste the code. Some security plugins strip script tags, in which case use the Plain frame.
  • Wix: add an Embed code element, choose Code, and paste it. Wix shows embeds in a fixed box that cannot grow by itself, so drag the element to about 560 wide by 760 tall (or use the Button style), and keep Any website chosen. The Embed a site element in Wix, pointed at the Plain frame address, is the other route; there your own address is enough.
  • Squarespace: add a Code block and paste it. Scripts only run on plans that allow them; otherwise use the Plain frame.
  • Your own HTML: paste it anywhere in the body of the page.

To open the form from your own link or menu item instead of the floating button, add data-button="false" to the Button code and give your link the attribute data-gaplessly-open. Clicking it opens the form.

3. What guests see

The same booking form as your booking page: the same steps, the same availability, the same deposit and card-on-file steps if you use them. It looks like your booking page too, with your cover photo, header, colours, fonts and look. A small Powered by Gaplessly line stays at the bottom.

Availability is checked when the guest books, exactly as on your booking page, so a time cannot be booked twice because it was shown on two websites.

Questions

The form shows a blank box or an error on my site.
Check that the address of the website showing the form is on your list on Integrations, exactly as visitors see it (https://yourbusiness.com.au and https://www.yourbusiness.com.au are different addresses, so list both, or use https://*.yourbusiness.com.au for every subdomain). Browsers refuse to show your form on any website that is not listed. Then check the code was pasted whole, including the closing script tag.
Why does it not work on Wix or Google Sites with my own address listed?
Those builders run pasted code from a different address than your own, and the browser checks that address too. Choose Any website under Booking form. The trade-off is that any site holding your code can then show your form; guests still book on your account with your hours and rules.
Can a deposit or card be taken inside the frame?
Card entry is built to work inside the frame, but we have not yet tested every browser, website builder and bank check, so make a test booking on your own site before you share it. A payment method that sends the guest to another site to approve it may not complete there; if you offer one in Stripe, link the guest to your booking page instead.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The form is laid out for a phone, and the Button style opens it in a panel that fills a small screen.
Can I use it on more than one page?
Yes. Paste the same code on each page.
