Repeat bookings, a weekly series

The Repeats option on the New booking dialog turns one appointment into a weekly or fortnightly series, created from your dashboard in a single step.

Quick answer

Open Bookings in your dashboard and click New booking. Fill in the client, service and team member as usual, then tick Repeats. Choose how often (every 1 to 4 weeks), which day or days of the week, and how the series should end, then click Create series.

1. What a repeat booking is

Repeat bookings are for the client who comes in every week or fortnight, so you don't have to create each of their visits by hand. It's the same New booking dialog you already use, with one extra step.

This is an appointments-vertical feature, created from your dashboard. It isn't something a guest can set up themselves on the public booking page.

2. Creating a series

Open the New booking dialog from Bookings, and fill in the client, service, team member, date and time exactly as you would for a single visit. Then tick Repeats.

  • How often: every week, or every 2, 3 or 4 weeks.
  • On which days: pick one or more days of the week the series should land on.
  • How it ends: either after a set number of visits (8 by default), or on a specific end date, whichever is easier to think in.

Click Create series to save. Each visit is created as its own ordinary appointment, tied together behind the scenes.

3. What happens if a date is already taken

If a team member already has a conflicting booking on one of the generated dates, that single date is skipped and the rest of the series still goes ahead.

After saving, a confirmation tells you how many visits were booked out of how many were requested, and how many dates were skipped because they already had a booking. You get one confirmation for the whole series rather than one per visit, but each individual appointment still gets its own reminder as usual, closer to the date.

4. Ending a series early

Open any booking that's part of a series and you'll see a "Part of a repeat series" note with an End series button.

Ending a series cancels every upcoming visit in it in one go and emails the customer once to say so. Visits that have already happened are left alone.

Tip:There's no way to edit just the pattern of a series once it's created, for example moving it from weekly to fortnightly. End it and create a new one instead.

5. Limits to know about

  • Cadence is weekly, fortnightly, or every 3 or 4 weeks, not month-based recurrence.
  • A single series can generate at most 52 visits.
  • The start date can't be in the past.
