Processing time and start intervals
Processing time leaves a gap in the middle of a service when your team member is free to take another client. Start intervals decide how often a service is offered online, and the calendar increment decides where a booking lands when you click or drag.
Quick answer
Open the service on the Services page, tick Processing time under its booking details, and set the Processing length. To change how often it can start online, use Start time intervals on the same form. The business-wide intervals and the calendar increment are in Settings, Booking rules, House Policies.
1. Turning on processing time
- Open the service on the Services page.
- Tick Processing time. Your team member is free during processing, so another client can be booked in.
- Set Processing, how long the gap lasts. It starts at 30 minutes and goes up to 4 hours.
- If there is work after the gap, choose Add time after processing and set After processing.
With processing on, Duration means the time before processing. A summary line under the fields reads the three parts back, with the total length customers see. With processing, the whole service can be at most 8 hours.
2. Online bookings during processing
Customers can book online during processing is on by default, so your booking page can offer the gap to another customer. Switch it off to keep the gap for bookings you make yourself. You and your team can always book into it from the dashboard.
On the calendar, the processing part of a booking is drawn open between dashed lines and labelled with its times, so you can see the free space at a glance.
3. Start time intervals
Start time intervals decide how often your booking page offers a start, such as every 15 minutes or every hour. Set the business-wide choice in the Booking Policy card (Settings, Booking rules, House Policies). Each service can follow it or choose its own on the service form, from every 5 minutes up to every 3 hours for long services.
When a customer books several services together, they share one set of start times that suits all of them.
4. Calendar time increments
Calendar time increments, also in the Booking Policy card, set the minutes a booking lands on when you or your team click, drag or stretch it on the calendar: 5, 10 or 15 minutes, or the same as your online start times (at most 1 hour). It does not change what customers see online.
