Quick answer

Open Gaplessly Booking on the Wix App Market and choose Add to Site. In the Wix editor, select the widget, open Settings, enter your booking page name and choose Form on the page or Book now button. Then publish. The form shows on your published site, and the editor shows a placeholder.

Before you start

You need a Gaplessly account with your booking page turned on. The app is free to add, and it works for appointment businesses and for restaurants and bars.

You also need your booking page name. In Gaplessly, open Settings, then Integrations, and open Wix under Your website, where you can copy it. It is the last part of an address like gaplessly.com/book/your-venue.

1. Add the app to your site

Open Gaplessly Booking on the Wix App Market (opens in a new tab)

Choose Add to Site and pick your site. The widget lands on your site by itself. If you remove it or want it on another page, add it again in the editor from Add, then Installed Apps.

2. Set it up

  1. In the Wix editor, select the widget and open Settings.
  2. Under Booking page name, enter your name, such as your-venue.
  3. Under Show as, choose Form on the page or Book now button.

The widget settings. Button text and Button colour appear once you choose the Book now button.

Form on the page sits where you place the widget and scrolls inside its box, so make the box tall enough for your form. It starts at 560 wide by 760 tall.

The Book now button opens the form over the page. It follows your site's own button style until you pick a Button colour, and Use my site's style puts it back. It is small enough to sit in a site header.

Tip:In a header, check the button on your published site at a few window widths. In the classic Wix Editor, a widget placed on the header itself rather than in one of its columns can run off narrower screens. Layers shows where it landed.

3. Publish and test

Publish your site and open the live page. In the editor and in Preview you will see a placeholder instead of the form. That is expected: Wix runs widgets there in a locked-down frame where browsers refuse to show the form.

Make a test booking on the live site, on a phone as well as a computer, then cancel it. On the classic Wix Editor's mobile layout the widget can start smaller than your form needs, so resize it there if it looks cramped.

Questions

The form is blank or shows an error on my published site.
First check the booking page name in the widget's Settings. Then, in Gaplessly, open Settings, then Integrations, and open Booking form: it should say Any website. Your form is on for any website unless you changed it. Listing only your own domain is not enough here, because Wix shows your site from its own addresses too.
Settings says my booking page name is not valid.
Enter the name only, such as your-venue. A Gaplessly address like gaplessly.com/book/your-venue or your-venue.gaplessly.com/book also works, but one on your own domain does not. Copy the name from Settings, then Integrations, then Wix.
Will bookings show up in Wix?
No. Bookings go into Gaplessly, with the same availability, confirmations and rules as your booking page. The app does not connect to Wix Bookings or Wix Restaurants, and it asks for no Wix permissions.
Can I still take a deposit?
Card entry is built to work inside the form, but we have not tested every browser and bank check, so include a deposit in your test booking.
Which Wix editors does it work in?
We have tested it on the Wix Editor and on Wix Harmony. We have not yet tested it on Wix Studio.
Can I paste the code instead of using the app?
Yes, though the app is simpler because there is nothing to paste or size by hand. Put your booking form on your own website covers the pasted version.
